The book is divided into three parts. Part I deals with Principles Governing Civil Employment which includes constitutional provisions, rules governing classification of posts and services, framing of recruitment rules ad creation of posts. Part II covers various alternatives to permanent employment including short term appointments, appointments on contract, honorary appointments, extension of service and re-employment, redeployment of surplus staff and temporary service. Besides, the latest orders issued on the above subjects whom shall be immensely useful in dealing with the current cases have been provided in the Appendix at the end.
